Lexical Chunks
Fluent English isn’t simply a matter of learning more individual words or mastering more grammar rules. Much of the language we use comes in combinations: raise a concern, take something for granted, get round to doing something.
These combinations—often called lexical chunks—help you express yourself more naturally and retrieve useful language more readily.
My teaching and publications draw on the Lexical Approach. You’ll explore collocations, phrasal verbs, idiomatic expressions and useful sentence patterns in context, with clear explanations of meaning, register and British usage.
The aim isn’t to fill your conversation with impressive expressions. It’s to help you choose language that fits.

Chatterbox brings advanced learners together for friendly, small-group conversation on Zoom.
Friendly, informal and by far the most effective way to improve your fluency. We focus on C1/C2 Vocabulary - collocations idioms and expressions - and preparation for Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency (CAE/CEPE) exams. The sessions take place on Sundays 1500 UK time and usually lasting two hours each session.
